About The Gallery
General information about the Gallery

This family gallery was set up to provide an online show and sell  facility for original artists, photographers and ceramicists, printmakers and other artisans. 

Fine gallery has a democratic philosophy and welcomes submission of work by any artist regardless of professional profile, and aims to select work of the best quality, in effect an online exhibition space as well as a commercial venture.

The gallery is also an online publishing house and will act as agents to promote sales of work on the site.

The gallery also hopes to act as an online magazine /forum for artists to discuss their creative interests.

Site Artists can promote on the ground exhibitions and link to their websites.

The gallery sells only originals, genuine artists prints and reproduction prints and offers excellent royalties to the exhibiting artists.

Privacy Statement

The Gallery takes your privacy seriously and under no circumstances will we share your registered information with any third parties or affiliates. We do not send out promotional email, unless the user has opted in to a specific program.

Forum Rules

These rules may be updated from time to time...

Please note that if we haven't explicitly mentioned something it doesn't mean you can go ahead and do it, please use common sense when posting.

 

  • No spamming... This includes private messaging groups of people to advertise something. Users promoting an external website will certainly have their posts removed.
  • No offensive posts/insults to other members.
  • Signatures are limited to a small font and will be edited if they take up too much space (maximum 4 links).
  • Try to stay on topic.. (if the thread is about oil paintings then keep the thread about oil paintings, start a new thread for a new discussion).
  • No illegal material is to be uploaded to this forum.

 

Posts deemed offensive or not complying with the rules can and will be deleted.

Users abusing the forums will be banned.

Q. How Do I submit an artwork?

A. Once you are registered as an Artist, and have logged in, just click on 'Your Details'  on the left menu, then on 'Submit an artwork' tab. Fill in all the details and submit the form.

 

Q. Where do I setup my Artist profile?

A. Again, login and click on 'Your Details'. On the Overview tab, click the link 'Edit your Site Profile', complete the form and Submit.

 

Q. I added images and links to my profile and they disappear, is this a bug?

A. No it isn't a bug. For security reasons some code is not allowed in user content. A personal link is supplied to link to your personal website.

 

Q. Who decides whether my work is accepted?

A. The site operates on a jury system, the members of which will be made public on the site. The aim is to have a transparent system for accepting work from Artists, with a changing jury over time to promote diversity.

 

 

Hints and tips for images

Getting the best quality image of your artwork is of the highest importance. Following are some hints and tips for taking photographs of your work, and for preparing the file for upload onto the website.


Exhibiting on the website

To exhibit your works on the website basic criteria must be met.

 

  1. You must be the owner of the work, and it must be unencumbered by any copyright or other agreements.
  2. You must be 18 years of age or older.
  3. You must have in possession (or access to) for all works you wish to sell.
  4. For sales of reproductions, you must furnish the gallery with original scans of your work at a professional quality for the sizes you wish to print.

You can register an account here. Once you have followed the registration process, and your account is validated, you can upload your work. Click on 'Your Details' on the left menu, and click on 'Submit a work'. Fill the form in and it will be then be considered for exhibition on the gallery by the jury.
